The BMF Project at Rockwall Founders Day

5/18/13 -Today The BMF Project was a proud participant in The Ready Set wear It Campaign sponsored by The Safe Boating Council. This is to start the National Safe Boating Week (May 18 - May 24). Today we got to promote life jacket awareness at the Rockwall Founder's Day Festival. We had 114 people participate in wearing a life jacket, and to help  set a Guinness Book of World Record for the most people wearing a life jacket on a single day. We were able to educate the public on the importance of having a PFD, as well as educating adults on the freedoms of having and wearing a inflatable PFD. We would like to give special thanks to The Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Rockwall Fire Department for helping us promote the importance of life jackets. Remember, Wear It!

Sonar Class Biggest Yet

The BMF Project sponsored its 5th Sonar for Search and Rescue class on April 22, 2013 in Lewisville. The class, led by Dennis and Tammy Watters of Team Watters, was attended by 77 search and resue personnel representing 22 agencies. This class covers the set-up of the sonar units and covers practical applications of what to look for during a search, in the class room and on the water.
